Contributions and responsibilities.

I led the project’s early visual development by taking major stakeholders brief and turning it into a cohesive creative direction through extensive concept work and sketch exploration.

I chose to lean heavily into brutalist architecture for The MAG because I was really drawn to the contrast between the wild, natural landscape of the secluded island and the clean, heavy concrete structures placed within it. I liked the idea of these large monolithic forms feeling almost intrusive against the surrounding nature, while still creating a strong sense of scale, atmosphere, and cinematic composition. The minimal geometric shapes also helped reinforce the futuristic tone of the project without making the environment feel overly polished or sterile.

Once the tone had been established and the initial sketches approved, I moved into visual development within the 3D space, mapping out each area to feel both functional and mysterious (read James Bond villain lair). The blockout phase quickly evolved into final look development, where lighting, texturing, and cinematics were developed in parallel to help shape the mood, scale, and overall visual identity of the environment.
